About Us

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

— Paul, Ephesians 2:8–10

Our Story

Our church began back in 2009 out of a partnership between Chinese Christian Church (CCC), Milson’s Point and St Bede’s Anglican Church, Beverly Hills to reach the increasingly migrant population in Sydney’s south and south-west. Today, we are a thriving independent evangelical church aiming to be vibrantly Biblical, Spirit-led, and missional - sharing Jesus with all nations.

Our Mission

The mission of South-West Evangelical Church is to cultivate gospel transformation among migrant communities in Sydney's South-West.

  1. Pray, preach, and pastor towards gospel renewal.
  2. Build multigenerational and multicultural gospel community.
  3. Further gospel mission by planting, partnering, and sending.

Our Vision

Head + Heart + Hands

Informed by the Word; Transformed for the World.

South-West Evangelical Church is a Reformed, Evangelical church. We love the Bible and prioritise deep Biblical teaching and knowledge. However, this is never knowledge for knowledge's sake. All of our Bible-focus is aimed towards transformation of hearts, wills, and affections, both individually and corporately.

Jesus Is Worth It

Holding Nothing Back In Living & Giving

Sacrificial living and giving is the mark of true discipleship. South-West Evangelical Church seeks to cultivate that as a part of lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus.

Partner's Not Passengers

In Church & Mission Everyone Gets To Play

South-West Evangelical Church is an elder-led congregational church. This is not just a governance issue; it comes out of a conviction that we are all priests in God’s Kingdom, and every member of the body of Christ needs to be mobilised for the church to grow.

God's Heart = Our Heart

Neighbours + Needy + Nations

We are a church that is motivated by the gospel always to be outward looking rather than inwardly focused. Mission is the heart of God and needs to be our heartbeat as well. As a corollary of taking the gospel to our community and the world, we seek to reflect Jesus' heart for the poor and marginalised by caring for them in practical and material ways.
