Get Baptised
Baptism is the means by which a person makes a public profession of faith in Jesus and a decision to follow Him. It occurs after you first become a Christian and is a powerful symbolic event representing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Baptism involves being submerged in water, which represents death to sin, and emerging from the water, which represents being cleansed and being raised to live a new life in Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit by the grace of God.
Importantly, baptism isn’t what saves us from our sins — only Jesus saves us from our sins. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward transformation that took place when you first become a Christian.
So, if you’ve just become a Christian, or have come back into a personal relationship with Jesus, then we encourage you to join our church and get baptised or confirmed.
If you have any questions about infant baptism, infant dedications, or confirmation, then please read our Infant Baptism & Dedications: What’s the Difference & Why Does SWEC Practice Both? page.
